'Treat game'

Ruben conducted a "treat game" with the minors, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would go into the sleeping quarters when they were getting ready for bed and tell them to eat sweets "rapidly".
She told the court Ruben had engaged in this activity with the boys "for many years", and youngsters had earlier experienced illness the next day.

The legal representative continued: "This year his family member had concerns about what was going on, for good reason.
"They chose" to examine in the man's possessions."
Mrs Prior KC explained items including baby oil, ointment and medical needles were located, and his stepchild alerted the law enforcement about his concerns.
She said the man went on to engage in the "treat game" with six youngsters that time - that Saturday - and they were all ill the subsequent day.
"The police had not arrived by that time," she stated further.
The oversight body, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, previously told that it was examining the police response of the situation.
The legal representative explained the children were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the family member notified the law enforcement again.
