Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
